Prof. Dr. Martin Selmayr has been the new Head of the Representation of the European Commission in Austria since November and visited Burgenland during his first weeks in office. After an interview with Governor Hans Peter Doskozil, Prof. Selmayr gained an insight into the use of EU funding. The RMB as the responsible body for public relations of the EU funding programmes in Burgenland accompanies Prof. Selmayr to Neusiedl am See to the Aviation Academy Austria.
Dr. Selmayr said “Every cent that the EU puts into the promotion of Austrian companies creates multiple benefits for Austria and Europe. Today, while visiting two innovative companies in Burgenland, I was able to get a first-hand impression of the added value of EU funds. Anyone who wants to strengthen Europe should support the European Commission's proposal for the next financial framework, which, among other things, provides for a significant increase in funding for research, innovation and digital activities.”
