Following an initial trip abroad to Spain, a further nine students travelled to Croatia at the beginning of April. They completed part of their training at Medulin Airport (LDPM), south of the Istrian town of Pula. The benefits of more stable weather make it possible to catch up on postponed flight hours in a short period of time.
“The first training sessions in Croatia were really very successful. Following our ‘test run’ in Spain a few weeks ago, we are now, as planned, looking at another location that is suitable for operations during the winter months,” reports Michael Wipfler, flight instructor at AAA.
As well as the flying hours in idyllic surroundings, the students are also enjoying life outside the cockpit. Joint excursions with the crew create a real school trip atmosphere.
